Club Update – May

Club News

There’s plenty happening around the club, and we’d love members to keep supporting Cooroy Golf Club both on and off the course.

New Cart Fleet Arrives

The club has recently taken delivery of 30 brand-new motorised carts, replacing the old fleet and giving members and visitors a much-improved experience around the course.

A big thank you also goes to EZGO Motorised Carts for their support, including sponsorship and the addition of a drinks cart.

After the recent stretch of wet weather, every bit of support makes a difference. Whether it’s booking a round, hiring a cart, bringing a guest, or supporting the clubhouse, it all helps the club that supports its members.

Follow Cooroy Golf Club Online

Members are encouraged to follow and engage with the club on Facebook and Instagram. Liking, commenting, and sharing club updates helps spread the word and keeps members connected with what’s happening around the course.

Members may have seen Dave Gleeson’s recent video playing the 9th hole at Cooroy Golf Club.

Wayne has brought Dave in to assist with the club’s marketing, promotions, and social media. Dave has previously worked as National Marketing Manager for Golf Australia Magazine, has played golf for more than 40 years.

As part of this, the club is looking for members and regular Cooroy players who would be comfortable appearing in short social media videos around the course. We’d love to feature male, female, cadet, and junior players of all abilities.

These videos are a great way to showcase the course, the people, and the community that make Cooroy Golf Club special.

Interested in being involved? Send the club a message through Facebook or speak to Wayne.

Members are also encouraged to follow the club on Facebook and Instagram, and to like, comment, and share posts to help spread the word.

2026 Cooroy Women’s Open

The 2026 Cooroy Women’s Open is coming up on Thursday, 25 June. Online nominations open 22 May and close 19 June, or earlier if the field reaches capacity.

Members and visitors are encouraged to nominate early, as the field is capped.

90th Anniversary Memorabilia

The club’s 90th Anniversary celebrations are coming up, with the main event now fully booked. Members who missed out on a place will still have the opportunity to purchase shirts and other memorabilia after the event.

More details will be shared closer to the date.

Sponsor of the Month

This month’s featured sponsor is Raine & Horne Noosa Hinterland, represented by Michael Robinson.

The club greatly appreciates the support of its sponsors, and members are encouraged to support the businesses that support Cooroy Golf Club.

Expressions of Interest: Club Captain

The club is currently seeking expressions of interest from members who may be interested in becoming the next Club Captain.

Interested members are encouraged to contact Wayne directly to discuss the role.

A Note to Members

Thank you for your patience while we refresh the club newsletter and tidy up how member updates are shared.

Going forward, the newsletter will be focused on clear, relevant club communication, including upcoming events, competition results, course and clubhouse updates, sponsor news, and important member notices.

We appreciate your understanding as we move to a more consistent format that better reflects Cooroy Golf Club and keeps members informed.

We have a new Website!

The club’s new website is also now live, giving members and visitors an easier way to keep up with club news, events, competition results, course information, and online forms. We’ll continue using the website as the main place for detailed updates, with the newsletter and social media helping members find what’s new. Thanks to Ben Dudek for his work on the website, which will continue to be used as the main home for detailed club updates.

  • Best value for money golf course on the Sunshine Coast. A really fun course layout, forces you to use multiple clubs off tees And have good course management. The grains are in great condition and are really receptive

  • Fantastic golf course! Really well setup with signage, sand buckets, and ball cleaners on most tees. This course is designed for playing 1-18 consecutively rather than stopping midway. A ‘grip it and rip it’ mindset will lead to disappointment as there are many hidden hazards (yes I speak from experience!). Some of the fairways are deceptively narrow or have huge swathes of flanking rough hard to see from a distance. Lots of variety! Long par 5s to short par 3s and everything in between. Take care when walking between tees as its easy for first timers to get disoriented. At just $40 I felt it was great value and would definitely go back.

  • Great place to play golf. Course is a good challenge for all HC’s. Very picturesque, but if you walk it the last couple of holes uphill might get you. Very limited parking. Worth a look.
