It is that time of year when visitors from down south arrive to enjoy our warmer weather. Included in our field of 104 players were six visitors. It was also nice to see Greg Topping back in action after a lengthy spell.
The pace-of-play statistics will be displayed on the whiteboard next week so the players causing delays can see how this affects the entire field.
Here is something for all players to consider: if the first group takes four hours to complete its round and each subsequent group takes five minutes longer than the group before it, the final group would take six hours to finish.
All playing groups need to improve their pace of play.
Old Course Challenge — First Round Results
Wednesdays Coming Up
Next Wednesday is the second and final round of the Old Course Challenge.
The competition is played in conjunction with an 18-hole Single Stableford event. The MSL system will also calculate each player’s score for the old nine-hole course.
There are separate prizes for each round, as well as a perpetual framed trophy for the aggregate winner.
On Wednesday, 29th July, we will play a Single Stableford in conjunction with a four-person Aggregate Stableford. This event will be sponsored by the “Crow Eaters”, Greg Michael and Grant Smallacombe.
This year’s Veterans Championships will be held over two weeks, on 26th August and 2nd September. All Veterans members are eligible to participate, with the men playing from the white tees and the ladies playing from the red tees.
Host Days Coming Up
On Monday, 7th August, we travel to Caloundra.
