Club Update – June

Hi members,

A few quick updates from around the club this month.

Course Videos Now Available

Members may have noticed some new video content appearing on the club’s YouTube channel and Facebook page.

Wayne has featured in a short “playing a hole” video, giving members a quick look at how he approaches one of the holes at Cooroy. Our Social Media manager, Dave from Sunny Coast Photos has also filmed a series of fantastic hole flyovers, showcasing the layout, surrounds and unique character of the course.
These videos are a great way to highlight the course and share more of Cooroy Golf Club with members, visitors and the wider golfing community.

Please take a moment to watch the videos, like the club’s Facebook page, and subscribe to the Cooroy Golf Club YouTube channel to help support the club’s online presence.

Please Take Care with Golf Carts

With the recent wet weather, we ask all members and visitors using golf carts to please take extra care when driving around the course.

Please avoid wet areas, puddles, muddy sections and any parts of the course that may be soft underfoot. Driving through these areas can cause unnecessary damage and creates extra work for the maintenance team.

This is especially important with the new carts now in use. We want everyone to enjoy the improved facilities, but we also need carts to be used responsibly so the course remains in the best possible condition for all players.

A Reminder Regarding Alcohol on Course

Management would also like to remind members and guests that bringing your own alcohol onto the course is not permitted.

As a licensed venue, Cooroy Golf Club has obligations under Queensland liquor licensing requirements, and we appreciate everyone’s support in helping the club remain compliant.

We also encourage members and guests to support the club by purchasing drinks through the clubhouse. Your support helps the club continue investing back into facilities, equipment and the course.

Course Maintenance Investment

The club has recently purchased a new Jacobsen Workman utility vehicle for Harry and the course maintenance team.

This investment, valued at approximately $25,000, will assist the team with day-to-day course maintenance and help them continue improving the playing conditions for members and guests.

The club is also planning to lease a Toro Sprays Unit in the coming months, further supporting the ongoing maintenance and presentation of the course.

These investments are part of the club’s continued focus on putting funds back into areas that directly benefit members and the long-term quality of the golf course.

Men’s Open

A reminder that the Cooroy Men’s Open is coming up. $40 Includes smorgasbord lunch.

Facebook Giveaway

We are also running a monthly Facebook giveaway.

Keep an eye out on the Cooroy Golf Club Facebook page for details to go into the draw to win a dozen Titleist Pro V1 golf balls this month.

It’s a simple way to stay up to date with club news, events, photos and announcements while also helping increase engagement around the club.

  • Best value for money golf course on the Sunshine Coast. A really fun course layout, forces you to use multiple clubs off tees And have good course management. The grains are in great condition and are really receptive

  • Fantastic golf course! Really well setup with signage, sand buckets, and ball cleaners on most tees. This course is designed for playing 1-18 consecutively rather than stopping midway. A ‘grip it and rip it’ mindset will lead to disappointment as there are many hidden hazards (yes I speak from experience!). Some of the fairways are deceptively narrow or have huge swathes of flanking rough hard to see from a distance. Lots of variety! Long par 5s to short par 3s and everything in between. Take care when walking between tees as its easy for first timers to get disoriented. At just $40 I felt it was great value and would definitely go back.

  • Great place to play golf. Course is a good challenge for all HC’s. Very picturesque, but if you walk it the last couple of holes uphill might get you. Very limited parking. Worth a look.
