Joyce McKay and the Octogenarians

If you are searching for the secret to longevity then look no further than the Cooroy Golf Club in the Noosa Hinterland where the wonderful Joyce McKay turned 93 this week.

Joyce plays the 9-Hole competition every week and has been on numerous committees while playing golf and has achieved a handicap of 10.

Where most of us only aspire to a Hole in One Joyce has had 7 in her golfing career.

Seems like retirement isn’t on the cards as a new Cooroy Golf Club shirt has been pre-ordered proudly displaying the number 95.

Following close behind is a group of octogenarians who play the 18 Hole competition twice a week and also many approaching that great age several of whom are stalwarts within the clubs’ Pennant Teams these ladies never cease to amaze the younger members of the club with their consistency and agility around the course.

Congratulations ladies you are an inspiration to all golfers and a testament to golf and how it enriches our lives as we age.
