What a great week-end we had with our visitors from McLeod Golf Club!  The weather was fine if a little windy but the sun shone and the rain stayed away – remarkable for the June long weekend.

We had 18 visitors on Saturday and as usual the home club won the Cooroy-McLeod Challenge on that day.

20 visitors and 22 locals competed on Sunday.  Sunday’s event, the Marion Ferguson Memorial (4BBB Gross) was a nail-biter with the winning pair, George and Karen Hall, coming in with 73 at the last minute.  Craig Whip and Marlene Vallis once again did not quite make it to the podium.  Perhaps next year?  The trophy was presented by Marlene in memory of her mother, Marion Ferguson, who was an early member of Cooroy Golf Club and a founding member of McLeod Golf Club.

Ray & Irene Lally, long-term members and supporters of Cooroy Golf Club presented their trophy to the Nett winners, Ray Glover and Joyce McKay (61 c/b).  Runners-up were Tony and Carolyn Foster (61).

Balls in the run-down went to Andy White & Sarah Brogden (62), Craig Whip & Marlene Vallis (62), Len & Anita Highland (64), Mike & Lavinia Hill (64) and Brent Jesberg & Ruth Grieve (66).  Pin-shots were won by John Leivers, Tony Foster, Wendy O’Hare, Brent Jesberg, Chris Dawson and Anita Highland.

Thanks to all the visitors and locals who supported us and made this weekend a very enjoyable one.  Also thanks to Maz our tireless House Director, and General Manager Wayne for the delicacies we enjoyed on both days.
