Hi reader,

A field of 87, including 45 visitors from Nambour and Tin Can Bay, enjoyed a great day of golf on Monday on a course in good shape after the rain.  Honours were fairly evenly shared across the three clubs.

Ken Brake (Nambour) took out A Grade with a very good 45 points, Peter Cheyne (Tin Can Bay) B Grade with 41 points and our own Dennis Beckhaus, C Grade, with 41 points.

Bob Noble fired with 40 points but was nudged into 3rd place in A Grade on a countback from the ever consistent Greg Michael.

A great 58½ by Peter Kennedy and Dale Rickard saw them take out the 2 Man Ambrose on Wednesday, although to hear the post-mortem of their game Dale did all the hard work!!

There are still seats available on the bus for our game at Maryborough on Tuesday, 13th June.  Nominations close on Wednesday, 7th June. click on the following link to nominate.  Maryborough Nomination List

The Cooroy Vets team heads to Pelican Waters today for the Vets 2017 District Team Challenge. Play good golf.

Update to Members

Around this time each year we provide a brief update on our financial position.

Seven months into our 2017 Financial Year we are showing a $1,967.24 profit in our Operating Fund compared with $1,060.69 at the same time last year.  Our bank account balance currently stands at $13,280.43.

Cooroy Golf Club is our preferred, but not exclusive, supplier of goods and services.  We paid The Club around $28,336 so far this financial year for purchases for game days.  Since 2012 we have contributed a total of $228,626 through these purchases.  This figure is expected to rise to around $250,000 by the end of our financial year in September.

Year to date rounds played as at the end of April are  2,628 compared to 2,808 same time last year. With favourable weather, and no shortage of golf opportunities, we expect to play around 5,000 rounds for the full year.  Average Wednesday fields are down slightly at 78 compared to 80 last year but still a very good participation rate.

Male membership currently sits at 132, including 18 new members.  Quite a few of these new members are residents of the new Palm Lake Resort development just up the road.  Many thanks to Steve Howes for guiding his neighbours in the resort to joining Cooroy Vets.

We have 19 Restricted Female members.
