Hi reader,

If you are a Veteran Golfer Age doesn't matter unless it's wine or cheese, so it's safe to mention a few milestones.  Past Vet and Cooroy Golf Club Patron, Jim Dunstan, turns a young 99 years.  Don Pigdon turns over 84 years, John Dangar 77 years and youngster Paul O'Hare 60 years.  After very little persuasion, Paul entertained the large Wednesday crowd with his famous Irish jig.

Welcome new member, Andy Stewart.  Andy is known to many of us for his great work around the course. It's great to see more 'junior vets' coming on board as it makes the rest of us feel younger!

A large and colourful field of 90 enjoyed a fun day on Wednesday for our popular Irish 4 Ball Stableford. The Noble Team of Bob Noble, Keith Harkins, John Stewart and Nick Kostalas took out first place, but no one enjoyed the day more than Jason Egan who scored his first ever Hole-in-One on the 6th Hole Jason then proceeded to dispell the myth that it is all down hill after a Hole-in-One by shooting a 'birdie' on the 7th Hole.

Next week’s 2 Man Ambrose is a “5 of clubs event”. You are allowed a total of 5 clubs only in your bag, including your putter, if you choose to carry one.  Players are reminded to take only five clubs with them, otherwise, disqualification may occur.

We host Maryborough and Woodford at Cooroy on Monday, 3rd April 2017.  Nominations are open to male and female financial members of Cooroy Vets.  The nomination sheet is available in the clubhouse.

As you know we have been running a raffle to cover the cost of a 24 seat bus for our trip to Maryborough.  The raffle has been very successful so far with only 60 tickets remaining to be sold.  The next opportunity to purchase tickets will be our shotgun start on 5th April.  The raffle means the bus will be free to members.
