CAPTAIN’s CORNER

For those who stayed for Wednesday’s presentation, we incorrectly informed you that we had a field of 79 and therefore there would be no 3^rd prize.  In fact we had 82 starters and as this is over the 80 requirement, we were able to add the 3^rd prize to all 3 grades.

Thank you to our member sponsors in Rod Roemermann, Mike Miklenda, and Kevin Crundall.  Unfortunately as they all play very early in the field, they could not attend the presentation.  If you have won a prize please go out of your way to thank them.

Rex Williams (left) is still on fire and took the A-Grade honours with 39 points; B-Grade went to Ossie Osborne with 42, and C-Grade to “Lucky” Andre Smit with 40 points.  Andre once again takes home a bottle of wine in our “Lucky Draw”.  Andre has only been at the club for a very short time, but has won more “Lucky Draw’s” than most.

Not so lucky was Dale Rickard who missed out on his prize when he did not come into the club after his game.

For those playing on Monday when we have our visit from Maryborough, don’t forget that it is a 9.30am shotgun start.

One to think about for the future, our Stableford competition on the 18^th of May will have a restriction of 3 clubs and a putter to be used.  I believe our “Vet’s Life Member” and past Captain, Jim Penman used to run these competitions and they were quite popular. The scores reportedly are usually not much different from those when carrying a full bag of clubs.  Think about what clubs you will carry, no doubt Errol Radley will take “Ernie” with him.
