Captain’s Corner
It was great to see 82 members and 3 visitors take to the field for our Stableford Competition on Wednesday. The fine conditions produced some great scores, and Terry Wilson had a day out coming in with 45 points to take out the B – Grade.
Our A – Grade winner was Rod Roemermann (left) with 42 points. Rod edged out Kevin Olsen on a count back. C – Grade was also a tight contest with the 3 leading players all finishing with 42 points. Len Highland was the winner on a count back from Peter Smith, and a very unlucky Con Russell received the consolation prize of a ball in the run down. I am looking forward to Con’s tale next week on how he could have won.
Congratulations also to Geoff Kerr who put his 2nd shot in the hole to take out the C – Grade NTP on the 6th.
The tale of A. STRANGER.
As promised I will now reveal his identity.
Last weekend whilst having a quiet ale or two with a neighbor (we will call him A. Stranger). I mentioned how good the response has been from our members who have been donating their excess golf balls back to the Vets so they can be used as prizes.
A. Stranger who plays golf himself, but not at Cooroy, then very kindly donated the 18 golf balls that we have used this week for our 6 NTP prizes.
There goes the theory “never trust A. Stranger”.
WORKING BEE: Our next scheduled Working Bee will be on Tuesday the 1st of April at 7.30 am. “THIS IS NO APRIL FOOLS JOKE”, we need you there to continue the very good work that we have started. Light duties only.
SHIRTS: Does anybody require a Cooroy Veterans’ Golf Club Shirt? You would have seen our players wearing them. They come with your name embroidered on them just in case you get lost. Taking orders now, cost is approximately $40. See Grant.
