WOMEN (Zone Pennants): Results for 19th March 2018

COOROY 1

Division 2 teams played at Gympie today.  Cooroy 1 were in the last match of the day and we were caught by one very heavy shower. Otherwise no complaints with the course being in fairly good condition after last week’s rain.  We excelled ourselves this week, winning 4 of the 5 matches against Noosa Springs, giving us 5 points. The last match went to the last hole, and our player did well to stay composed and win with the large number of spectators looking on from the verandah. We look forward to playing at Maroochy River next week.

Cooroy 1 Captain – Assunta Easton

COOROY 2

Another successful round for Cooroy 2 women, winning 3½ to matches to Mt Coolum’s 1½, giving us 4½ points.  We had a couple of very good wins and three very tight games that could have gone either way.  We were fortunate to take a win, a square and 1 down for those last three games, giving us the overall win. A great credit to all who played, with great sportsmanship being shown from both teams. Thanks to Gympie for their hospitality and delicious lunch.

Cooroy 2 Captain – Chris Michael

DIVISION 3

Division 3 Played at Beerwah against Caboolture.  The course was in better condition than anticipated and thankfully we were allowed to use carts.  Some of the wetter areas were out of play. Cooroy won 3 of the 5 matches giving us 4 points to Caboolture’s 2.

Division 3 Vice Captain – Mary Miller

  • Best value for money golf course on the Sunshine Coast. A really fun course layout, forces you to use multiple clubs off tees And have good course management. The grains are in great condition and are really receptive

  • Fantastic golf course! Really well setup with signage, sand buckets, and ball cleaners on most tees. This course is designed for playing 1-18 consecutively rather than stopping midway. A ‘grip it and rip it’ mindset will lead to disappointment as there are many hidden hazards (yes I speak from experience!). Some of the fairways are deceptively narrow or have huge swathes of flanking rough hard to see from a distance. Lots of variety! Long par 5s to short par 3s and everything in between. Take care when walking between tees as its easy for first timers to get disoriented. At just $40 I felt it was great value and would definitely go back.

  • Lovely course. Challenging enough to make it fun, but not too difficult for high handicappers

  • Great place to play golf. Course is a good challenge for all HC’s. Very picturesque, but if you walk it the last couple of holes uphill might get you. Very limited parking. Worth a look.

  • I’ve played at this golf course several times. The par 4 course is a bit short but well-maintained, and the lady at the pro shop were very friendly.
