Special General Meeting

It was encouraging to see 60 members complete their ballot papers at our Special General Meeting, held after play on Wednesday, 23 September.

All six motions were successful. This is a great result for the Cooroy Veterans Golf Club, allowing us to move forward while adhering to the rules of our updated constitution.

Thank you to all members who assisted on the day.

Wednesday Results

Wednesdays Coming Up

Wednesday, 30 September is the October Monthly Medal, sponsored by the Bush Boys. A reminder that A-Grade will play a Stroke event, while B & C Grades will play Stableford.

There will also be a free hotdog and roll, plus a drink, to enjoy at Marty’s Hut on your way around the course.

Wednesday, 7 October is a Single Stableford, with all players playing from the Red Tees.

Wednesday, 14 October, weather permitting, we will play the previously cancelled July Monthly Medal.

Host Days Coming Up

On Monday, 28 September, we travel to Headland. The nomination sheet is on display at the club near the Vets pin-up board.

On Monday, 19 October, we have a Home Host Day with Headland visiting us. Nominations will open at 6:00 pm on Monday, 28 September and can be made online.

Please remember that any late cancellations must be advised to Host Day Captain Tina Thomas on 0419 901 163.

SCDVGA Event Coming Up

On Tuesday, 13 October, the SCDVGA 4 Ball Ambrose will be played at Nambour.

The nomination form and event details are available near the Vets pin-up board at the club.

Best value for money golf course on the Sunshine Coast. A really fun course layout, forces you to use multiple clubs off tees And have good course management. The grains are in great condition and are really receptive

Fantastic golf course! Really well setup with signage, sand buckets, and ball cleaners on most tees. This course is designed for playing 1-18 consecutively rather than stopping midway. A ‘grip it and rip it’ mindset will lead to disappointment as there are many hidden hazards (yes I speak from experience!). Some of the fairways are deceptively narrow or have huge swathes of flanking rough hard to see from a distance. Lots of variety! Long par 5s to short par 3s and everything in between. Take care when walking between tees as its easy for first timers to get disoriented. At just $40 I felt it was great value and would definitely go back.

This is a friendly country course in great condition. Greens are in good nick. Well worth a visit if you ate on the area.

Great place to play golf. Course is a good challenge for all HC’s. Very picturesque,but if you walk it the last couple of holes uphill might get you. Very limited parking. Worth a look.
