Wednesdays Coming Up

Wednesday, 16 September

An Irish Stableford will be played in conjunction with a Single Stableford, which counts towards the Stableford Player of the Year.

For those unfamiliar with the Irish Stableford format:

Holes 1–6: Your normal Stableford score counts.
Holes 7–12: Your Stableford score is multiplied by 2.
Holes 13–18: Your Stableford score is multiplied by 3.

Wednesday, 23 September – Internationals v Aussies

The annual Internationals v Aussies Single Stableford will be played with a 7:30am shotgun start.

Following the game, a Special General Meeting will be held to vote on the proposed alterations to the Cooroy Veterans Golf Club Constitution.

The Notice of Meeting is currently on display at the clubhouse, with the agenda to follow.

Members are asked to raise any queries or discuss the proposed changes prior to the meeting. At the meeting, the resolutions will be read and voted upon, with no further discussion on the day.

Nominations are now closed.

This will be an 8:30am shotgun start, so please arrive early for registration.

We travel to Headland Golf Club on Monday, 28 September.

The nomination sheet is on display at the Club near the Vets pin-up board.

SCDVGA Events Coming Up

District Irish Stableford – Gympie

The District Irish Stableford will be played at Gympie on Thursday, 24 September, with an 8:30am start.

Numbers are limited. The nomination sheet and conditions are on display near the Vets pin-up board at the Club.

Entry Fees

$60 per person if sharing a cart
$40 per person if walking

Payment must be made to Cooroy Veterans Golf Club.

Best value for money golf course on the Sunshine Coast. A really fun course layout, forces you to use multiple clubs off tees And have good course management. The grains are in great condition and are really receptive

Fantastic golf course! Really well setup with signage, sand buckets, and ball cleaners on most tees. This course is designed for playing 1-18 consecutively rather than stopping midway. A ‘grip it and rip it’ mindset will lead to disappointment as there are many hidden hazards (yes I speak from experience!). Some of the fairways are deceptively narrow or have huge swathes of flanking rough hard to see from a distance. Lots of variety! Long par 5s to short par 3s and everything in between. Take care when walking between tees as its easy for first timers to get disoriented. At just $40 I felt it was great value and would definitely go back.

This is a friendly country course in great condition. Greens are in good nick. Well worth a visit if you ate on the area.

Great place to play golf. Course is a good challenge for all HC’s. Very picturesque,but if you walk it the last couple of holes uphill might get you. Very limited parking. Worth a look.
