Cooroy Ladies Tee Up for Cancer Raises $5,859 for McGrath Foundation

Pink tutus, flamingos and plenty of community spirit were on display as 87 golfers came together for Cooroy Golf Club’s annual Tee Up for Cancer charity day on Thursday, 15 October 2026.

Despite a gloomy start and the threat of rain, only a few misty showers interrupted the festivities. From first-time players to seasoned golfers, everyone embraced the occasion, making it a memorable day of golf, fundraising and friendship.

Most importantly, the event raised an outstanding $5,859.79 for the McGrath Foundation, helping support people and families affected by cancer.

The fundraising total included a generous $2,500 donation from the Cooroy Golf Club Social Club, whose contribution helped make the day an even greater success.

A Splash of Pink on the Fairways

There was no shortage of colour or creativity on the course, with players going all out to embrace the pink theme.

Mary Miller and Wendy Morse claimed the Best Dressed prize, looking fabulous in matching pink tutus, leis and sparkling tiaras.

The Best Decorated Cart award went to Trisha and Mal Grey, whose imaginative display of pink flamingos had everyone wondering whether they’d arrived at a golf tournament or a pool party!

The colourful outfits, decorated carts and cheerful atmosphere brought plenty of smiles throughout the day.

  • Best value for money golf course on the Sunshine Coast. A really fun course layout, forces you to use multiple clubs off tees And have good course management. The grains are in great condition and are really receptive

  • Fantastic golf course! Really well setup with signage, sand buckets, and ball cleaners on most tees. This course is designed for playing 1-18 consecutively rather than stopping midway. A ‘grip it and rip it’ mindset will lead to disappointment as there are many hidden hazards (yes I speak from experience!). Some of the fairways are deceptively narrow or have huge swathes of flanking rough hard to see from a distance. Lots of variety! Long par 5s to short par 3s and everything in between. Take care when walking between tees as its easy for first timers to get disoriented. At just $40 I felt it was great value and would definitely go back.

  • Great place to play golf. Course is a good challenge for all HC’s. Very picturesque, but if you walk it the last couple of holes uphill might get you. Very limited parking. Worth a look.
