COOROY JUNIOR PENNANTS: Results for 19th & 26th May 2024

Round 5 of Junior Pennants was held on 19 May 2024 at Cooroy Golf Club. The team for the day was Merrin Bartholomaeus, Jaxon Smith, Chase Rendell, and Coco Moore and they played the Pelican Waters Division 1 team.  What a tough day!  Our juniors played well, but Pelican was just that bit better winning 3 out of their 4 matches.  Our only player to take away a win for the day was Coco Moore.  Coco won her match 4 & 3 and also had her first eagle on Hole 11.  Congratulations Coco!

Round 6 of Junior Pennants was held on 26 May 2024 at Woodford Golf Club. The team for the day was Merrin Bartholomaeus, Jaxon Smith, Oakley Hall, and Carter Greef and they played the Caloundra Division 1 team.  This was the best that I had ever seen our team play!  Carter won 3 & 2, Oakley took it to 18 winning 2 up, Jaxon won 5 & 3 and Merrin fought extremely hard and just missed her birdie putt on 18 to lose 1 down.  What a significant effort from the whole team beating the Caloundra who are on the top of the ladder for the finals next week.  Our team finished 3rd and this is the end of the season for them.

I would like to thank our players for showing up each week and putting in their best, the host clubs, and our club for supporting the juniors. It was great to see the progress that we made through the season!

  • Best value for money golf course on the Sunshine Coast. A really fun course layout, forces you to use multiple clubs off tees And have good course management. The grains are in great condition and are really receptive

  • Fantastic golf course! Really well setup with signage, sand buckets, and ball cleaners on most tees. This course is designed for playing 1-18 consecutively rather than stopping midway. A ‘grip it and rip it’ mindset will lead to disappointment as there are many hidden hazards (yes I speak from experience!). Some of the fairways are deceptively narrow or have huge swathes of flanking rough hard to see from a distance. Lots of variety! Long par 5s to short par 3s and everything in between. Take care when walking between tees as its easy for first timers to get disoriented. At just $40 I felt it was great value and would definitely go back.

  • Great place to play golf. Course is a good challenge for all HC’s. Very picturesque,but if you walk it the last couple of holes uphill might get you. Very limited parking. Worth a look.

  • I’ve played at this golf course several times. The par 4 course is a bit short but well-maintained, and the lady at the pro shop were very friendly.
