Vandalising Property

There have been and still are members of this club who are trying to intimidate us out of our positions on the Management Committee.

At the June 2024 SGM, members had their say and elected a management committee they wanted to run the club until the AGM in November.  I feel that I have an obligation to the Cooroy Golf Club members to see out that term.  In November, all positions will become vacant which gives our members another opportunity to nominate themselves or someone else if they are not happy with the existing committee members.

The vandalism of my car on Thursday evening at the club disappoints me greatly.  To think one of our members would stoop this low shows the type of people we are dealing with.  Their action is just another form of threat, intimidation, and bullying which is now a police matter.

For the sake of all committee members, I appeal to anyone with any information regarding this incident that they report it to our club manager.

Most members would not have any idea of the barrage of complaints that we have received from just 3 members over the past 6 months.  And when you hear comments from someone running around the practice area stating ‘We will get the bastards yet’ it makes you realise that their problem is personal.

At the recent SGM, it was my duty, as requested by the management committee, to present the reason why the decision was made to expel Mr Carroll.  I did this and members had the opportunity to question us.  The voting took place, and a decision was made by members present at the SGM to uphold the decision by the management committee – the appeal was dismissed, yet this was not enough for the person responsible for vandalising my property.
