Cooroy Golf Club women held their Tee Up For Breast Cancer Research today. It is a culmination of a fund raising effort to help in finding a cure for breast cancer. Earlier in the month Gary and Kym of Noosa River and Canal Cruises donated a sunset cruise to the cause. They also donated the first prize for the Ambrose competition today. All up, the women have raised over $1 600. A great effort from a small club.
We were joined today by women from the Tewantin-Noosa Cricket Club of which one of our members, Patsy Fayne is the team mentor. They took part in the competition, and one of their members, Paula, conducted an auction which proved to be a source of hilarity and donations.
Lunch was finger food brought in by club members for which all paid a gold donation. We had a great variety of tasty savoury and sweet dishes and with plenty to spare.
The winners of the 4-person Ambrose were T Mason, L Williams, J Collis and E Henman with R Martin, S Zulpo, P McAulay and P Fayne coming a close second.
Winners of the 3-person Ambrose were C Foster, J Rabjohns and K Johnston with runners-up M Lucas, A Morton and F Buchanan.
