CAPTAIN’s CORNER

A total of 101 players took part in our Monday Host Day Stableford Competition. It was a mighty effort by our visitors Mount Coolum, who turned up with a record 61 players.

Star of the day was Chris Simpson with 45 points. The best scores from others were Bob Noble and visitor Graham Paterson (MC) who both recorded 44 points.

Wednesday’s “John Madill Monthly Medal” drew a field of 81 players.  Congratulations go to March Monthly Medal Winners in A-Grade: Kevin Tonkin, B-Grade: Graeme Meade (left), and C-Grade: Bob Atkin. The best gross scores for the day, and therefore winning the K Tonkin sponsored event were Kevin Tonkin himself with 74 off the stick, followed by Grathan Leatherbarrow 75, and then came Brad Jordison, Russ Rylance, and Greg Flanagan all with 79.

Only 2 weeks to go until we celebrate “St Patrick’s Day”. We are hoping that Paul O’Hare can entertain us once again with his famous “Irish Jig”.

I would like to thank everyone who has supported the “Maryborough Fundraiser Lucky 100 Draw”.  All tickets have now been sold and the draw will take place next week.  Your prizes will be on display and ready for collection next Wednesday.
