2017 INTERNATIONALS vs AUSSIES
Despite a “carefully selected” Australian Attack team and a great team effort by the True Blue Aussie team, the International All Stars, astutely led by Jimmy Henderson, proved too strong again this year to take out the Pewter Mug.
Grant Smallacombe, skipper of the Australian Attack Team, offered the excuse that he needed to wait until the available inscription area moves further down the mug so his name will fit. Relieving skipper of the True Blue Aussie team, Rod Booth, argued that he had achieved the objective set by Dave Lyons – don’t let Australian Attack win!
Notwithstanding the emphatic win by the Internationals, there are already rumblings afoot with some team members lobbying to be recognised as fully fledged Aussies next year!
International All Stars (Captain – Jim Henderson) – 408
True Blue Aussies (Captain – Rod Booth) – 380
The Australian Attack (Captain – Grant Smallacombe) – 371
