4 MAN AMBROSE and XMAS LUNCH on 11th DECEMBER 2013
If you didn’t play on Wednesday and haven’t indicated your intentions for Xmas lunch please let Rod know urgently if you want to attend so catering can be finalised.
This is a 4 Man Ambrose so get your team organised – expect some novelty rules. A nomination sheet is available in the club house.
SUNSHINE COAST DISTRICT VETERAN GOLFERS ASSOCIATION
Along with 10 other clubs, we are members of the Sunshine Coast District Veteran Golfers Association.
The Executive Committee of the Association hold office for a 2-year term and is elected on a rotation basis between clubs. Mt Coolum have completed their 2-year term and at the 2013 AGM handed Executive Management to Horton Park for the next 2 years.
The General Management Committee of the Association, which meets quarterly, includes delegates from each member club so we have a say in Veterans’ golf in the District.
The District Host Day program for 2014 is now agreed and, with our Wednesday program, will be included in the 2014 Cooroy Golf Club Program Book.
A change in Club Management at Peregian Springs Golf Club recently resulted in all visitors, including Veterans, being required to pay a $55.00 Competition Fee. As a result Peregian Springs Veterans’ have withdrawn from hosting Veteran Golf days in 2014. However, they continue as members of the District Association and will be invited to Host Days by a majority of District Vets clubs including Cooroy.

Welcome to new member Bruno Schiess, out here from Switzerland enjoying out weather.
SICK PARADE
Brad Lavender has just had a successful hernia operation and won’t be playing golf for a little while – we wish him a speedy recovery. Brad, it looks like back to reading lots of books for a while.
GOLFLINK HANDICAP LIAISON
From time to time queries arise in relation to handicaps and GolfLink. If you have any GolfLink handicap issues or questions please discuss them with our Vice Captain, Jim Henderson. Jim is our nominated liaison person with Club Handicapper, Assunta Easton.
COOROY GOLF CLUB (The Club) MANAGEMENT COMMITTEE
The Vets have a voice in the affairs of The Club through representation on the Management Committee. Our Captain, Grant Smallacombe represented the Vets this year and will continue as our delegate in 2014.
CAPTAIN’s CORNER
The highlight of Wednesday’s game was Bob Noble’s great score of 46 points to take out the A-Grade. Bob shot a very impressive 2 under the card on the back nine. There was even more excitement for Bob, as he also scored an ACE on the 10th hole.
Congratulations also to our B-Grade winner Ray Leslie with 44 points, and our C-Grade winner Nick Kostalas who proved the value of a good holiday by scoring 45 points. There were many good scores with the run down going to 39 points.
Our next Working Bee will be on Tuesday the 3rd of December, 7.30 am at the Green keepers Shed. There are plenty of sticks and bark to be picked up.
At last I have the shirts that were ordered some time ago, sorry for the hold-up but it was out of my control. Brad Lavender, John Clements, and Jim Gregg can collect their shirts from me at a cost of $40.
