Overview | Background/context: The Greens Committee (with input from the Men’s Captain, Cyril Trist) has identified the 2nd and 16th fairways as a problem in wet weather – the holes become unplayable. A potential solution is to create an open drain between the 2nd and 16th fairways deep enough to flow into creek at both ends with lateral drains to remove surface water on fairways into the open drain. In the wet season this deep open drain will contain water so make it a water hazard almost to 2nd green and drain to creek. Decomposed granite paths will link fairways with appropriate drainage below. In view of the need to carefully consider design options, feasibility and cost the work is created as a Project. The first step is to gain authorisation from the Management Committee to move from a LISTED Project to the INITIATION stage. Initiation involves for example: (1) Feasibility assessment, (2) Scoping, (3) Detailed Costing, (4) Timeline, (5) Risk identification, (7) Expertise/Resourcing and (8) post project Maintenance requirements – at the end of this exercise a Priority is proposed by staff/volunteers involved in initiation. NOTE: At this stage in the process there is NO APPROVAL for the project to proceed it is simply putting together the information needed to make an informed decision about priority and approval for the Project to go ahead. Once completed, information from the Initiation stage feeds into Project Approval Considerations by the Cooroy Golf Club Management Committee. Formal Management Committee authorisation is required before the project can proceed to implementation. Objective: To be completed in Initiation stage. Target Outcome: To be completed in Initiation stage. |
