Hi reader,
Golf is a game that creates emotions that sometimes cannot be sustained with the club still in one's hand.

HOST DAY VISIT to GYMPIE

22 Cooroy players headed north to Gympie on Monday and returned with some pretty good results.

Jason Egan continued his good form with a win in B Grade with 38 points. Graeme Caffyn came 3rd in C Grade with 37 points. Michael Hill and Rex Williams both recorded NTPs.

Balls in the rundown went to Tony Foster, Ray Glover, Rex Williams, Wayne McKinnon and Mike Kent.

Jim Henderson won a raffle prize.

WEDNESDAY - R1 VETS CHAMPIONSHIP

The threatening weather clearly had an impact on field numbers. And, then nearly half the field withdraw mid game because of heavy rain narrowing the contenders for the 2018 Vets Championship.

Highlights of the day: An excellent 62 nett by Con Russell. Con says he has been holidaying down south but after Wednesdays score there is suspicion he's been putting in the hard yards practicing. Bob Atkin returned from overseas in good form to card 65 nett and take out runner up in C Grade. Peter Buchbach shot a very good 82 off the stick to take out the Kev Tonkin Best Gross award and also collect a Cooroy Harvest Fresh Voucher for a NTP on the 10th.

Next week is the final round of the Vets Championship for those left standing after round 1.

We are pleased to report that Bob Atkin has joined John Round as a member sponsor with "The Golf Pirates". John is looking for more crew and says the name only arose because all the good names were taken at the time. Speak to John if you are interested.

VOLUNTEER WORKING BEE - 17th SEPTEMBER 2018

The next working bee will be held on Monday, 17th September 2018 and will focus on continuing the work to raise the tree canopy (Job J15). Click button for more detail.

Raising the tree canopy improves airflow and drying across the course and is critical to reducing playing downtime and revenue loss from wet weather. This work is an important part of broader plans for improving the course.
