Great to be out playing golf again after all that rain. Once again thanks to Warren and his staff for doing a mighty job under difficult conditions.

The other important day is our ANZAC DAY 4-man Ambrose event this coming Wednesday. This is a 7:30 am shotgun start. The event is and has been sponsored for quite some time by the Cooroy Pomona RSL Sub Branch and our ex-servicemen. A big thank you to them as it is much appreciated.

We are celebrating ANZAC DAY with a FREE curried sausages and rice meal, so don’t bring your lunch. Catering for this is by CGC and if it is anything like the last curry Jenny organised, you won’t want to miss it. The Vets have had to cancel one of our planned Marty’s Hut feeds, so this is a way of making sure you don’t miss out.

The club’s server once again let us down and we had to go back to the old manual cards. Took a while to get used to it and scores were able to be entered manually into the system.

The server is back up and running and winnings have been posted to member House Accounts.

Our best scores in the Best 3 of 4 Stableford were:

Winners: Graham Laing, Peter Piggott, Terry Wilson, Peter Smith – 116
2nd Place: Peter Palmer, Greg Michael, David Attrill, Paul O’Hare -114
3rd Place: Mark Kelly, Tony Watson, Richard Gibson, Peter Brown -108

HOST DAY PROGRAM

We hosted Caloundra on Monday, 15th April with a field of 57. Cooroy players had a good day. The winners were:

A-Grade: Mike Kent 38, Wendy O’Hare 34, Tony Watson 33.
B-Grade: Dale Rickard 37, Tina Thomas 36, John Cranley (CAL) 35.
C-Grade: Con Russell 31, Tony Atkins 30, Joe Daniels 29.

Unfortunately, the forecast is for more rain on the way, and with a Host Day planned for Monday, 22nd April 2024, we will have to keep an eye on that and will advise if the event is cancelled.

Watch for notices on the website.
