Hi reader,
It has come to the attention of the Committee that certain members of the Cooroy Golf Club Inc. (the Club) are publishing and/or otherwise communicating misinformation and disinformation to the membership about the actions of the Management Committee (the Committee) and certain Committee members that is deliberately misleading and/or blatantly untrue. The actions of this small group of members appears to be designed to discredit the Committee and slander or defame certain committee members. Their allegations and assertions have been circulated at the club and otherwise communicated to members and external third parties.

This campaign of misinformation and disinformation appears to have the intent of causing unnecessary disruption to the orderly and effective management of the Club. The Committee members give their time, and in some cases many hours of their time, voluntarily in the service of the Club and they deserve to be treated with an appropriate level of respect while in office and performing their duties as officers of the Club. Propagating misleading and derogatory misinformation and disinformation about the Committee and its members is prejudicial to the best interests of the Club.

We do not intend here to conduct a trial by correspondence, and therefore we will not be responding to, or giving air to, the misinformation and slanderous and untrue accusations being levelled against the Committee and certain committee members. We can assure you that the Committee takes its responsibility seriously with respect to addressing conduct that is prejudicial to the Club and will take appropriate action as provided for under s9(a) of the Club’s constitution. Any member found to be engaging in such conduct will be dealt with in accordance with the rules of the Club as provided for in the constitution.

For the absence of doubt, the Committee takes its responsibilities seriously and has at all times acted, and will continue to act, in the best interests of all of the members of the Club. The Committee welcomes constructive feedback from members on the performance of the Club and of the Committee. Formal written complaints or recommendations for improvement are welcome at any time, and the Committee assures you that they will be dealt with in a professional and confidential manner irrespective of their nature.

We ask that you contact the Committee if you have any questions or concerns about information that has been published that brings into question the actions of the Committee or its members and we thank you for your ongoing support of the Club and the Management Committee.

Regards,
Management Committee
