WEDNESDAY

The course has responded fantastically to the rain and recent major renovations thanks to astute preparation by Warren - see the ‘From The Shed’ post. However, water security remains a critical issue.

After lower numbers in recent weeks, a good field of 92 on Wednesday played a Stableford sponsored by 'The Vets'. There were 4 prize levels in 3 Grades.

Bronco Price is back to form winning A Grade with 40 points.
Grant Smallacombe won B Grade with 42 points, the best of the day.
Dennis Beckhaus won C Grade with 41.

Our new Vets President, Bruce Otto, is off to a very positive start picking up runner-up in B Grade and a bottle of Angove wine for the NTP on the 8th.

A reminder that next week’s Stableford Competition will be played off All Tees. What this means is, that when you register you get to choose the coloured tee you wish to play off for the day. You have 4 choices: BLUE, WHITE, RED, YELLOW. As all are rated differently your daily handicap will also differ depending on your choice. For instance, a handicap of 19 off BLUE, 18 off WHITE, 16 off RED, and 15 off YELLOW.

Next week’s game is also the last opportunity to progress up the Leaderboard of the Stableford Player of the Year (SPotY). It appears that Richard Gibson, with 376 points from his best 10 games, is unlikely to be overtaken for the top spot. Plenty of other opportunities to make the top ten.

Congratulations to John Weursching for his Hole-in-One on the 7th. Keith Harkins would have thought that his NTP shot which finished within a foot of the hole would probably stick. Bad luck Keith, but it did take a great shot to outdo yours.

We will be having a 2-week break from Wednesday Competitions. Our last game is the Xmas Lunch and presentation on the 20th December.

We play our first game in 2024 on the 10th of January.

Next week's newsletter will provide more detail about 2023 and 2024.
