2018 DISTRICT VETS TEAM MATCHPLAY
A wonderful day at Gympie for Cooroy Vets.
|
The Vets team of Rex Williams, Brian Clemow, Terry Lyons and Jason Egan tied with Mt Coolum for the A Grade Team Matchplay trophy. A playoff ensued on the par three ninth and Jason "calmly“ hit a tee shot to about 2 feet from the pin. The Mt Coolum player sent one off to the left and then flew his second shot over the green and into the bunker - he politely conceded and gave us the win.

Terry Lyons claimed three nearest the pins and Brian Clemow claimed another. Joe Daniels won two of the raffles and Jimmy Henderson won one also.

The B Grade team of Joe Daniels, Jim Henderson, Don Clelland and Ron Blount did well to finish in the middle of the field. A good time had by all!

HOSTING HEADLAND
Our smallest host day field in a long time - 42. The chill factor and threatening weather didn't help. Fifteen attended from Headland.
|
Cooroy claimed the chocolates with a 'back to form' Peter Piggott 37 taking A Grade, an excellent 42 by John Cairns to take B Grade and a very creditable 41 from Kevin Crundall to take C Grade.
|
John Cairns also grabbed a NTP on 7th.
