WEDNESDAY
All Tees Stableford Competition: Having the choice of 4 different tee options provided a bit of variety and seemed to be very popular amongst players.
|
Our Course Superintendent, Warren Smith, also likes the idea as it spreads the wear load on the tees.
|
Interesting results were:
8 hit off the Yellow
36 hit off the Red
21 hit off the White
11 hit off the Blue
|
We had 1st, 2nd, and 3rd. in 3 grades, a total of 9 main prizes. Of these:
2 played off the Blue.
2 off the Yellow.
6 off the Red.
|
No winners from the White which is quite interesting.
|
No one hit the Red Submarine, but if Robert Shield, who played in the Vets Captain group had, it would have sunk the sub. His shot went up very
high and came down with a lot of speed.
|
Thanks to our sponsors The Red October Team for adding a very
enjoyable feature to this game. One player, aiming for the submarine, missed the water completely with his ball ending up in the general play area.
|
The Stableford winners on the day were:
A Grade: Russ Rylance 38
B Grade: Tony Foster 41
C Grade: Greg Topping 45
|

Congratulations to Greg Topping for a very impressive 45 points suggesting an astute choice of Tee colour. Greg also picked up the NTP on the 13th.
|

SPOTY LEADERBOARD – OCT 2023
Leading this year’s Stableford Player of The Year is Peter Jeucken with 363 points from his best 10 games. The next best is Graham Laing with 361 points.
|

With 7 more Stableford format games to go this year, there are plenty of
opportunities for everyone to improve their scores.

Last year’s winner Mat Saunders scored 386 points from his best 10 scores. But the best scores in other years have been, in 2016 when Greg Michael scored 392 points, and in 2018 Grant Smallacombe scored 398 points
