WEDNESDAY
We are still none the wiser about who is who with 'The 4 Stooges' aka Bruce Otto, Matt Saunders, Gary Menyweather and Darryl Ayers but thank them for sponsorship of Wednesdays Stableford.
|
Matt Saunders made a good return on his investment to score 40 points taking Runner Up in B Grade to Tom Williams also 40. Garry Stephens finished in 3rd Place with 38.
|
|
Bob Noble didn't win a Lucky Draw prize (perhaps it should be called Bob's Unlucky Draw) but he did win A Grade with 39 from Greg Flanagan 37 and Studley Martin 35.
|
|
|
A tight tussle and best score of the day saw Ron Blount edge out Tony Atkins on a countback with 42 to win C Grade. Andrew Carson finished 3rd with 38.
|
|

HOST DAY PROGRAM
We host Noosa on Monday, 24th October. It will be a timed start from 7:23. Tee times cannot be finalised until we receive nominations from Noosa. As soon as we can, tee allocations will be posted on the website. This should be done by Thursday night. It is very likely you will be teeing off earlier than is currently on the nomination sheet. Weather permitting we will see you on Monday morning.

Noosa host us on Wednesday 9th November. It is expected we will only be allocated 24 spots. The nomination sheet will be in the clubhouse as soon as received from Noosa.
|
Cooroy host Headland on Monday 14th November. This will be a shotgun start from 8:00 am.
|
|
Our visit to Peregian on October 10 was cancelled due to rain, but thanks to their committee it has been rescheduled to December 5. That will be a good way to finish our program for the year.

|
VOLUNTEER WORKING BEES
Warren is looking for volunteers to assist with planned major greens renovation later this month.
|
Monday, 31st October – need 6-8 volunteers from 7am to at least 4-5pm to help clean up scarifying and coring.
|
Tuesday, 1st November – need 4-5 volunteers from 7am to at least 4-5pm to help top dressing, granular fertilizer and soil amendments applications.
|
More volunteers will make this process easier and with the course being closed, there will be other jobs that can be done to take advantage of having no golfers there.

A major greens renovation is planned for Monday, October 31st and November 1st. As a result the course will be closed on both days. An external contractor will work alongside Green staff to double scarify, broom, aerate with ½ inch hollow tines and broom off again. Once this is complete, Green staff and volunteers will top-dress and apply granular fertilizer …
