WEDNESDAY
The threat of rain, which didn't really eventuate, saw several late withdrawals but, we still ended up with a good field of 92 for the September Monthly Medal and Round 1 of the 2022 Vets Championship.
|
Newish member, Cam Darby carded 66 to win the A Grade Medal from Richard Gibson 67 and Mark Kelly 69. Richard also won the A Grade NTP on 3rd and Mark Kelly is contesting the final of the Single Matchplay.
|
An equally impressive 66 saw Mark Woolway win B Grade from Dave Lyons 71 and Ken McKay 71. Mark is in the playoff for the Single Matchplay.
|
It was a tight tussle for the C Grade Medal with two Tony's scrapping for first place. Tony Kershaw won with 70 on countback from Tony Atkin with Michael Hill in 3rd place on 71.

The Vets Championship is the culmination of our golf year and decides the overall club champion and grade champions.
|
Club Champion: Contested over 36 holes of stroke play, the player with the lowest ‘all in’ net score decides the Handicap Champion.
|
Grade Champions: Contested over 36 holes of stroke play the player with the lowest gross score deciding the Champion in each grade.
|

VETS 2022 SINGLE MATCHPLAY CHAMPIONSHIP
With all of the elimination games of the Single Matchplay Championship now completed, the final will be between Mark Kelly and Mark Woolway. Both players are in fine form so this should be a good contest.
|
|
Mark Kelly is giving Mark Woolway 11 shots, but recently proved too good for Dave Chapman when he had to give 27 shots.
|
|
HOST DAY PROGRAM
A reminder that we host Nambour on Monday, 5th September 2022. It is an 8:00 am shot gun start. Tee allocations will be posted on the website in the next day or so.
|
|
The nomination sheet for our hosting Peregian Springs on Monday the 26th September will be in the clubhouse from Friday 2nd September 2022 . It will be a shotgun start as we expect a good roll-up from Peregian.
