Week ending 9th July 2022

Hi reader,

WEDNESDAY

Just when we thought the weather had turned in favour of playing golf the rain returned and forced cancellation of Wednesday.

HOST DAY

We host Tin Can Bay on Monday, 11th July 2022.

Originally designated a shotgun start it has been changed to a time-start from 8:00am because of the smallish field.

TCB will tee off from 8:30 am onward. The majority of Cooroy players will get way between 8:00 and 8:30am so make sure you are registered before 8:00 am.

VALE GRAEME OSBORNE

Osborne Graeme Montage
It is with sadness that we advise the passing of Graeme 'Ossie' Osborne.

Ossie always had a smile on his face and was handy with a golf club but found playing increasingly difficult and retired from golf recently.

If you had any interest in motor bikes then Ossie was always up for a conversation especially if it involved classic motor bikes and racing.

Ossie started riding bikes when he was 12 years old and was an accomplished racer competing in historic events. He owned a fleet of well presented bikes - rumour has it that he kept a favourite classic bike in his living room.

As well as an impressive racing history, Ossie had a musical background. He played guitar and saxophone and sang in Geelong's first rock band in the 1950s. One of his fellow members was Georgie Bracken, former Australian Middleweight champion boxer.

Ossie will be missed. Our condolences to family and friends.
