Hi reader,

MEMBERSHIP

Long time member of The Bush Boys’, Kerry Martin, is having health issues. We wish him well and a speedy recovery.

Things have been pretty quiet on the course and in the club house recently but that is about to change. Con Russell is recovering well from recent health issues and expects to be back playing golf very shortly.

Grant recently ran into retired long time Vet, John Kelly. John is going well and passed on his regards to his friends at Cooroy Vets.

STARTERS

With the introduction of the new golf management system we have relieved Grant and Jimmy of starter duties so they can head out to play early and return to the clubhouse in plenty of time to oversee score card processing and declare results. As a consequence, we are looking for volunteers (member or retired member who wants to stay involved) to assist as starters for our Wednesday competition.

The starter acts like a Concierge of Golf providing the gateway to an enjoyable day of golf. The starter’s primary role is to register players, collect playing fees and manage an orderly start to competition for each playing group. Being starter provides a great opportunity to meet and interact with other members and take an active part in the success of the Vets.

If you are interested please speak to Grant or Rod. You will be paired with a committee member in the starters box about every 4 - 6 weeks on a formal roster.

We are pleased to advise we have one new volunteer starter. Larry McErvale, is winding back on his golf and will join our formal starter roster. Thanks Larry.

We visit Mt Coolum on the 16th May to play the 'Coo-Coo Challenge'.

We host Nambour at Cooroy on 23rd May.
