87 members and four visitors enjoyed a Stableford on a magnificent day on a course in great condition.

known as 'I Stand TALLER. A bit of history about this SPONSOR. The group was formed several years ago and was known as 'We Stand TALL' and it consisted of members who were short in stature. All of Dave's small friends retired or disappeared leaving him alone. A change was needed to recruit more co-sponsors so he changed the name to 'We Stand Taller' and recruited a few very tall members. These also have done a runner on Dave, once again leaving him on his 'Pat Malone'. He is now after new blood and a suggested name change may be in order. Perhaps 'We Would Like to be TALL' or 'We are AVERAGE' may work for you Dave, as this could appeal to a larger marketplace. Anyway good luck Dave, we value your sponsorship. If not it looks like next year you could be known as 'I STAND ALONE'.

Tony Watson produced the best score of the day, 41, to take A Grade from Peter Jeucken 39, Andrew Stewart 38, and Richard Green 38.

Graham Laing 38 won B Grade from Tony Bernhagen 36, James Bisset 35 and Peter Palmer 35.

Second best score of the day, 40 went to Andrew Aves to claim C Grade from Joe Daniels 37, Alex Kologaras 36, and Dale Boys 34.

HOST DAY PROGRAM
Members who played in the District Matchplay at Gympie really enjoyed their day with the Cooroy team producing a good result. This is three years in a row. Mat McQueen says 'we had a great day at Gympie and had a blast. We were runners-up on countback in B grade. We four boys had an awesome day.'
|
Members wanting to visit Tin Can Bay for the District Championship will also have a great day, even if it is just to listen to the antics of their Vets Captain. It is on Wednesday, 19th of July – nominations close Monday 10th of July. It is a shotgun start at 9:30 and we are allowed up to 10 players. If you are walking or taking your own cart the cost will be $40. There are over $1500 in raffle prizes plus generous prizes for winners, NTP’s, and ball run down. There will be three Divisions – Div 1 1st net score $150 voucher; 2nd $75 voucher, 3rd $50 voucher, Div 2 and 3 best three stableford points, same prize money. $40 includes Competition fees and a Chinese lunch.
