Hi reader,

WEDNESDAY

Thanks to 'The Happy Champers' (aka Gary Dwyer, Gary Dwyer and Rod Roemermann), for sponsoring what turned out to be a rather wet Stableford.

Sufficient players finished, however, albeit rather wet, to declare a result although scores clearly suffered from the wet conditions.

Michael Linney won A Grade with 36 from Gary Menyweather 31, Studley Martin 29 and Cam Darby 28.

B Grade went to Andre Smit with 36 from Matt Saunders 35, Wayne Carty 34 and John Stewart 32.

C Grade went to Steve Paice 32 from Andrew Aves 30, Dennis Beckhaus 29 and Bob Atkin 25.

GEMLIFE PROPOSAL

The Vets Management Committee does not support the Motion to be put to members next Tuesday, 28th March 2023. We strongly support the position of the Cooroy Golf Club Management Committee that discussions continue with GemLife as the proposal offers a unique opportunity and is important to securing the future of the club.

The Vets Management Committee's view is that members should be given the opportunity to decide on the merits of the proposal based on full information so it is important to continue discussions with GemLife.

We urge members to attend the SGM and make their vote count. Vote NO so discussions with GemLife can continue. A YES vote will result in all discussions with GemLife ceasing immediately without any further negotiations. It is important to understand that this vote is not about approving the latest GemLife proposal it is about continuing discussions with GemLife.

Members had the opportunity on Wednesday to examine the latest design and discuss the proposal with GemLife representatives. These informal information sessions will continue on the 23rd March and 25th March in the clubhouse.

IMPORTANT: To further assist members in understanding the proposal there will be a formal presentation by GemLife on the evening of Monday,
27th March 2023, in the clubhouse from 6:30 pm. Members are encouraged to attend and ask questions.

The information now provided by GemLife is extensive, so it will take some time to fully analyse and evaluate the latest proposal and design so The Club can form a view on the merits of the proposal and undertake constructive negotiations with GemLife. Feedback from members through the information sessions will provide important input to these negotiations.

Ideally, a NO vote at the SGM on 28th March 2023 will see discussions continue and a final decision on the latest GemLife proposal will then be determined by members at a Special General Meeting to be called by The Club once the Committee and members have had time to properly consider the proposal.

Quite apart from the benefits for The Club, it is important to highlight the positive impact the development will have for the Cooroy/Hinterland community, including jobs for our youth and enhanced environmental outcomes for all.

GEMLIFE PROJECT: Latest Plans and Information Received

This week all the plans were received from GemLife for the new Golf Course layout. There is a great deal of detail in these plans which will take some time to examine. This will still require comprehensive discussion and negotiation with GemLife before a position can be reached by the committee. Clearly, the Committee wishes to continue with these discussions …
