GEMLIFE PROJECT
Recently there have been rumours around the club that “we have lost the 15th hole”.

In fact, this is incorrect. The CGC Committee has not agreed to any proposal that sells or gives away the 15th hole to the development company GemLife.

However, what is of concern and maybe the source of the rumours, is that Gemlife has submitted plans to the Court of appeal that clearly show the 15th hole being annexed by them for use as an access road to the development. This was done without the Committee’s knowledge or permission on 25/1/2023. See the link below. Subsequently, this layout has appeared on several documents submitted to the court since that time.

The CGC Committee is concerned that the amount of land sought by Gemlife has grown considerably after the first proposal, as well as the lack of detail Gemlife has presented.

We recently advised we were organising information sessions to bring you up to date on the latest position and GemLife designs.

It is important that members form a view on the merits of the GemLife proposal based on complete information. In the absence of key information, we are not currently able to proceed with the planned information sessions. In the circumstances, we have delayed the information sessions until we can present complete information.
