WEDNESDAY
The field was down today as we had a big contingent of Vets touring with The Jokers on the Gold Coast.
|
A predicted thunder storm struck but soon passed on an otherwise magnificent winter's day for the 4 Man Aggregate Stableford sponsored by the 'R-Souls of Golf' (aka Greg Flanagan, Ray Lally, Peter Crosby, Tony Bernhagen).
|
All teams stayed the course bar one. I hesitate to mention that the Captain and Vice Captain's team pulled the pin just after Jimmy birdied the 10th hole. The reason, allegedly, had nothing to do with the rain or Jimmy's lack of points on the first nine (an upside down 9) rather 'they wanted to get a flying start on sorting out the competition result for the day ......in a warm dry clubhouse over a guinness!'

Don Clelland, Andrew Carson, Ron Ballantyne and Joe Daniels had a good day winning the 4 Man Aggregate Stableford with 130 points. The team debriefing over a beer handed out stiff criticism to the team member who only contributed 20 points to the team aggregate - hard but fair! That's why they are called 'The Ball Busters'.

Runners up went to Ken McKay, Peter Piggott, Dave Chapman and Grathan Leatherbarrow with 125.
|
The Peters were in in the limelight again in the Single Stableford with Peter Buchbach taking A Grade with 39, Peter Piggott B Grade with 33 and Ron Ballantyne C Grade with the days best individual score of 43.
Next week is a Single Stableford sponsored by 'The Last Group' (Brett LeMoy group). You guessed it - they are the last group to tee off each week.

We host Maryborough on Monday,10th May for a 9:30 am shotgun start and the first round of the 'MaryRoy Shield'. Sandwiches, Pies and sausage rolls will be available after the game.
