Hi reader,
2021 03 Guinness Joke
Ossie Osborne dropped into the clubhouse on Wednesday after successful surgery and says is feeling like a new man and can't wait to get back on the course.

WEDNESDAY

There were some good scores and tight contests in each grade in our May Monthly Medal sponsored by John Madill Toyota. It was a particularly good day if you were Peter.

Peter Brown returned the round of the day with net 64 to take A Grade from Mike Kent and Peter Kennedy.

New member, Jim Lenske took B Grade with 68 on countback from regular Gympie visitor, Roman Braithwaite and Lance Horn.

Kev Crundall had a good day shooting 67 to take C Grade from Ron Blount and Mike O'Donnell.

Peter Crosby finished in the rundown and with two NTP's and Peter Buchbach made the rundown. Peter Kennedy won the Kev Tonkin Best Gross with 72 from John Barringer 73 and Peter Brown 74. Peter Kennedy also won the NTP on 12.

Errol Radley gets an honorable mention for equaling the card on the six par 3's, but not much can be said about the other 12 holes.

A rogue NTP container label on the 10th caused some confusion so, the following will each receive a ball: Kevin Crundall, Ron Blount, Alex Kologaras, Wayne McKinnon, Mike O'Donnell and Rob Nash.

Next week is an 4 Man Aggregate Stableford sponsored by the 'R-Souls of Golf' (Greg Flanagan group). This is a 4 Man Team Event. Full handicaps are used for each player and points scored on each hole for each player are recorded on a single card and then aggregated for the team score.

WINTER TEE TIMES

We change to winter tee times from 1st May - time starts from 7:00am.
Maryroy Shield

HOST DAYS

We have a busy schedule coming up in our Host Day program.

We resume the annual challenge with a visit from Maryborough on Monday, 10th May 2021 for the first round of the 'MaryRoy Shield'. We visit Maryborough for round two on Tuesday, 1st June 2021. Terry Lyons created the magnificent perpetual shield (picture) reflecting a little of the history of each area. There will be a bus for those wishing to travel to Maryborough in comfort. The cost is covered by a raffle held last year when COVID-19 disrupted our playing schedule.

We visit Mt Coolum on Monday, 17th May. The nomination sheet and details are available in the clubhouse.

Our Cooroy Vets team is organised for the 2021 District Team Challenge being held at Tin Can Bay on Monday, 17th May. Host Day Captain, Dave Lyons, says this will be our year for glory.

On Monday, 24th May we host Nambour. Nomination sheet and details are in the clubhouse.
