Some good news for John Round. He has dodged the need for hip surgery. It seems the situation can be contained with physiotherapy which John has been doing for a couple of weeks. He is already noticing good improvement. Some time to go yet, but John is keenly looking forward to swinging a club again as soon as possible.

Welcome aboard to new members Matt McQueen and Michael Todd. Matt is off to a good start with the Vets, winning a bottle of wine in the Lucky Draw.

HOST DAYS
Seven Cooroy Vets teams have been accepted for the District 2 Ball Aggregate Stableford event at Maroochy River on Friday, 16th April 2021. We have always performed well in District events. Play well and enjoy the day despite the crack of dawn tee time.
|
We head to a Host Day at Nambour on Monday, 19th April 2021 for an 8:00 am shotgun start. Registration by 7:30 am and wear club colours. It's great to see two of our new members, Neville Kunst and Michael Todd playing in our host day program. The list of Cooroy players is available via the link below.

WEDNESDAY
Not even the attraction of Irish adult soft drinks could defeat the weather over recent weeks. But, The Leprechauns finally prevailed and we got to play our Irish 4 Ball Stableford with a great field of 98 - we can't quite crack the ton! A special thanks to Chief Leprechaun, Jimmy (Irish) Henderson, for organising The Leprechauns sponsor team - there are lots of them!
The team of Peter Jeucken, Russ Rylance, Ian Lumsden and Tony Hayes put together a handy 102 to take first place.
|
The team of Michael Loe, Tony Kershaw, Bruce Otto, Peter Buchbach finished runner up on 98.
|
A countback saw a tie for 3rd Place: Dale Rickard, Lance Horn, Dave Lyons, Terry McCulloch93 Bob Noble, Keith Harkins, John Stewart, Andy Stewart 93
|
We also played a Single Stableford Event:
Our favourite ex barman, Kelvin Brittain played his second game with the Vets and almost came away with a win in A Grade but, was pushed into Runner Up on a countback by Bob Noble with 38. Michael Loe finished 3rd with 37.
|
Ian Lumsden had a good day also claiming top spot in B Grade with 41 from Bruce Otto 40 and Peter Piggott 37.
Appropriately, Jimmy Henderson took out C Grade with 36 on a countback from Bob Atkin with Andrew Carson in 3rd place.

A REMINDER to Geoff Linde - you are due for your next 'eagle' on the 14th this month - one in December one in February one in April!
