WEDNESDAY

Rain, sunshine, showers, sunshine, more rain, wind, more sunshine ....the weather couldn't make up its mind, but our winners were very clear on their intent.
|
Brian Clemow finally discarded the ‘bridesmaid’ tag to take the big prize in A Grade with 40 from Peter Brown 37 and Kerry Davies 36.
|
Terry Wilson continued his hot form from the Host Day on Monday to take B Grade with 40 from Scott Bennett and Neil Dwyer.
|
Kevin Pickford had a good day shooting 37 to take C Grade from Hans Herrle and Kevin Crundall.
|
|
A REMINDER: Lucky draw prizes not collected are forfeited, so check the whiteboard and the lucky draw winners sheet when you return to the clubhouse. The winners sheet and wine are located next to the score card boxes on the bench in front of the Vets noticeboard. From all accounts it is very nice wine.

Last week we reported an eagle by Geoff Linde on the 14th. Back in early December 2020 Geoff also shot an eagle..... on 14th. It must be Geoff's favourite hole! Geoff is due to shoot his next eagle in April...on the 14th!!
NEXT WEDNESDAY, 24th February, is a Single Stableford sponsored by 'The Shankers' aka Terry McCulloch and Grant Smallacombe. They will be hoping not to live up to the moniker.

The following Wednesday, 3rd March, is a Monthly Medal sponsored by John Madill Toyota. Madill's are planning to join us at Marty's Hut for a free Jimmy's Famous Burger and Beer.

HOST DAYS
Mt Coolum are so appreciative of our “send as many as you want” attitude that they have initiated an inter-club challenge similar to what we have with Maryborough. We are scheduled to visit Mt Coolum in May, so details of the challenge will be sorted out before then.
|
66 players from Mt Coolum joined 35 players from Cooroy last Monday with Mt Coolum winning the day. They nearly needed a trailer to take home the spoils.
The competition hosted four Grades each to 4 places. Peter Crosby (C) claimed A Grade with 39, Terry Swindells (MC) B Grade with 38, Brian Elliott (MC) C Grade with 40 and Terry Wilson (C) D Grade with 37.
The big takeout of the day was however, the numerous comments from Mt Coolum players about the excellent condition and presentation of the course, a big compliment to Todd and his greens staff and course volunteers.

We visit Tin Can Bay on Tuesday, 9th March. The nomination sheet will be available in the clubhouse from Saturday, 20th February 2020.

IRISH ONE LINERS
|
As I was standing there I noticed 4 grave diggers walking about with a coffin; 3 hours later and they're still walking about with it. I thought to myself, they've lost the plot!!
|
My daughter asked me for a pet spider for her birthday, so I went to our local pet shop and they were $70!!! Blow this, I thought, I can get one cheaper off the web.
My neighbour knocked on my door at 2:30am this morning, can you believe that 2:30am? Luckily for him I was still up playing my Bagpipes.
