Hi reader,
2021 01 Sweeney Todd Barber Saunders, Henderson, Smallacombe
Matt Saunders recently won a Sweeney Todd Barber NTP Voucher. Matt hasn't had a haircut since he retired from the Police Force and say's he doesn't need one, so he offered to donate the voucher to Jim Henderson.

Jim hadn't heard the term hair cut or barber in such a long time that he thought it was some sort of medical procedure so he declined the offer. Grants' wife, Denise, recently gave Grant his once a year trim so he declined also.

If you desperately need a haircut see Matt or visit Sweeney Todd Barber (Aubrey Cannon) at Tewantin shopping Center or 44 Maple Street, Cooroy and mention Cooroy Vets.

COVID-19 RESTRICTIONS - MARKING CARDS

Following reconsideration of the Covid-19 policy on the marking of score cards Cooroy Golf Club has decided to rescind the rule requiring players to mark their own card and revert to the usual practice of the marker marking a player's card and each card having 2 signatures.

If any players are concerned, they are advised to avoid touching their own card except for the few seconds needed to sign it and then use hand sanitiser immediately afterwards.

WEDNESDAY

The twist in the John Butler sponsored the BUTLER 4 Man Scramble didn't cause any problems for the winning team: John Butler, Graham Laing, Peter Smith and Terry Wilson.

Runner Up went to the 'Bush Boys' group of Bruce Wilshire, Glen Johnstone, Dennis Beckhaus and Jim Prendergast.

The 'Most use of the Course' team prize went to Mike Miklenda, Rod Roemermann and Larry McErvale and was equivalent in value to the runner up prize!

Jimmy's Famous Burger and Beer at Marty's Hut was up to the usual excellent standard - thanks Jimmy and Brian.

HONOUR BOARD EVENTS

Unfortunately COVID-19 restrictions interrupted our 2020 season causing cancellations of two of our most prestigious honour board events:
  • Stableford Player of the Year (SPOTY)
  • Host Day Player of the Year (HDPOTY).
2021 WILL be better so we start the year on a positive note with thanks to Monty Python.

"Some things in life are bad
They can really make you mad
Other things just make you swear and curse
When you're chewing on life's gristle
Don't grumble, give a whistle
And this'll help things turn out for the best and
Always look on the bright side of life
Always look on the bright side of life" etc

Both events are under way for 2021. We post updated Leaderboards to the website and Vets Notice Board throughout the year. The conditions for SPOTY are provided in the post below. HDPOTY conditions will be posted separately. Prize levels are the same for each events:
  • 1st Place $100 member account credit (MAC) plus Embroidered Golf Shirt

BEING HARD OF HEARING CAN HAVE BENEFITS

Morris, an 82 year-old man, went to the doctor to get a physical. A few days later, the doctor saw Morris walking down the street with a gorgeous young woman on his arm.

A couple of days later, the doctor spoke to Morris and said, 'You're really doing great, aren't you?'

Morris replied, 'Just doing what you said, Doc: 'Get a hot mamma and be cheerful.''

The doctor said, 'I didn't say that.. I said, 'You've got a heart murmur; be careful.'
