After nearly 25 year’s playing with Cooroy Vets, John Kelly has decided to call it quits and retire. John will, however, drop in from time to time to catch up with long time friends.
|

WEDNESDAY
Thanks to Peter Palmer for sponsoring Wednesdays Single Stableford. A wet course and at times heavy rain didn't lend itself to low scores.
|
Early starter Larry McErvale escaped most of the heavy rain and returned the best score of the day, 39, to take C Grade from Mike Hill 36 and Glen Johnstone 27.
|
The last group had to play through the heavy rain but were rewarded with Brett LeMoy returning 36 to take A Grade from Kerry Davies 34 and Greg Michael 33.
|
Matt Saunders took B Grade with 35 from Bruce Wilshire32 and Ron Blount 31.
|
|
We are pleased to advise that Kev Tonkin will again sponsor the 'Best Gross' competition on stroke days. Thanks Kev.

INJURY LIST
|
John Round thought he could squeeze in one more game before having medical attention to a troublesome hip but it wasn’t to be. We look forward to seeing John back on course soon.

HOST DAYS
The nomination sheet for hosting Mt Coolum on Monday, 15th February, is available in the clubhouse. Mt Coolum will be sending a large contingent of players as they don’t play a weekly vets competition. We are expecting a field of well over 100.
|
We host Gympie on Monday, 1st February and Pelican Water on Monday, 8th February.
|
NOTE: If you nominate for a host day but can't play let Dave Lyons or Jim Henderson know urgently.
|
The host day arrangements at Cooroy while COVID restrictions continue are:
|
- Time starts - make sure you know your tee time and register 30 minutes in advance.
- Coffee, sandwiches, pies etc will be available for purchase from the bar.
- If you purchase a ticket in the raffle the arrangements are the same as Wednesday. The raffle will be drawn as soon as registration is complete and the winners noted on the whiteboard and the Raffle Draw sheet. When you return to the clubhouse after your game check the whiteboard. Winners collect prize from the usual place and sign off the Raffle winner sheet.

Sponsored by John Butler, next Wednesday is a BUTLER 4 MAN SCRAMBLE with a twist. The twist is that the player whose shot is selected does not get to play the next shot. So, in a team of four, all four players tee off, the best shot is selected, then only three players hit their second shots. The best of the second shots is selected - and the player who hits it sits out the third shots and so on until the ball is holed.
