WEDNESDAY
|
With a field of 95 yesterday we played 376 rounds in November for an average field of 94. Over October and November we played a total of 718 rounds for an average field of 90 and broke another record. In the same period last year we played 615 rounds for an average field of 69. What a difference a virus makes!
|
And, it was a day of good scores. Maybe the overcast, humid conditions slowed things down to the liking of most players.
|
|

Back playing regularly, Jeff McDonald has really hit form firing 71 (best ever!) off the stick and 44 points to take A Grade from Geoff Linde 40 and Andy Stewart 39.
|
B Grade went to Geoff Dwyer with 42 from Peter Palmer 41 and John Stewart 38.
|
Steve Howes shot 39 to take C Grade from Jim Prendergast and Dave Chapman. A couple of years ago, after playing some frustrating golf, Steve vowed that once his handicap reached 36 he would retire. Ever since then his handicap has headed the other way. With this sort of form Steve will be playing for another 20 years!
|
We had a three way tie for the NTP on the 12th with Dennis Beckhaus, Mike Smith and Mike O'Donnell each putting their second shot in the hole. Must be one for the record books!
|
|
It's tough when you shoot 70 off the stick (again) and only make the rundown as Wayne Hastie did yesterday.
|
|
|
|

HONOUR BOARD EVENTS
Next Wednesday, 2nd December 2020, we hold our Medal of Medals in conjunction with our December Monthly Medal. Having your name on the magnificent Australian native timber shield (picture) donated by Michael Loe adds to the prestige of the event.

|

2020 VETS FINAL DAY & XMAS LUNCH
Our final day for 2020 is Wednesday, 16th December 2020. Baring any major easing of COVID-19 restrictions it will be a time start and 4 Man Ambrose sponsored by long time member sponsors 'The Bush Boys' with some extra contests.
|
Unfortunately, restrictions mean that we can't get everyone together for our usual sit down lunch and presentation in the clubhouse. Nevertheless, it will be a fun day to wrap up an unusual, but successful, year.
|
At this stage we are planning to provide individual 'PickNeat' platters (a variety of meats, cheese, crackers, etc) for players which you can eat in the clubhouse or take home or both plus a free drink.
|
|
