HOST DAY PROGRAM
Visit to Headland on Monday, 28th March 2022
We pay for our game and collect score cards at the Registration Desk outside the Headland pro-shop (card or cash). Carts are paid for in the pro-shop. Morning tea etc will be available outside the pro-shop, lunch available after upstairs.

If you have not booked a cart then do so ASAP. In the nomination sheet you were given a phone number 54445800 to book a cart. Their captain asked if you are walking or carting. That was only to ensure walkers would be allocated tees as close as possible to the clubhouse.
|
Please ensure you register by 7:30 so that we all have time to get to our allocated tee (see link to post below). Remember their committee also play and want to do the same. The last thing they want to be doing, particularly their captain, is waiting for late/no arrivals.
|
We had a couple of occasions last year when two or more of our players did not turn up. This resulted in groups having to be re-arranged only minutes before tee off – very annoying. This is the last thing a hosting captain wants to see and is very embarrassing for your Cooroy Committee. Accordingly if you have to cancel, you must let Dave Lyons know as soon as you can by contacting him on 0419722104 (text preferred).

With rain coming on the weekend, and Monday expected to be a wet day, please check our website to see if Monday has been called off.

District Events
There are five events run by the Sunshine Coast District Veteran Golfers Association. The first, a 2 person Aggregate Stableford, is coming up on Friday, 8th April at Mt Coolum, with nominations closing next Thursday.
We want to send 6 teams of two to play in the Aggregate Stableford event. A couple of years back four of our six teams came 1st, 3rd, 5th and 6th in a field of 66 teams.

So, we have done well in the past and would like to be represented again. See the post below for a link to the flyer.

We are doing it a bit different this year and asking for nominations through this newsletter. It will be a case of first six groups that contact our Host Captain (0419722104) – best dressed. Eligibility criteria apply.

All information is on the flyer. Pay on the day. Cost - $30 per person - includes Competition Fee and Lunch. If required, booking a hire cart is the responsibility of players – contact Mt Coolum Pro Shop.

WEDNESDAY
There was an air of Disney at Cooroy on Wednesday for a Stableford sponsored by 'The 3-Mouseketeers' (aka Kevin Crundall, Rod Roemermann and Mike Miklenda) with some good scores and great weather for a change.
|
C Graders in particular, liked the conditions, with Jack Timm flying high on an impressive 42 from Tony Kershaw 41 and Ron Ballantyne 39.
|
Kelvin Brittain produced his 'A game' to take out A Grade with 41 from Peter Buchbach 40 and Paul Korczynski 40.
Matt McQueen jumped onto the B Grade podium with a very good 38 on countback from Bruce Dooley 38 and Tom Williams 36.

We have had some feedback about slow play. We are all veteran golfers looking to enjoy a round of golf that flows smoothly without constant waiting. The simple rule is that players exercise common sense and take responsibility for the speed of play of their group. The key is self assessment, and maintaining a general awareness of what is going on around you on the course.
