We start the year with increased prize levels:

Typically prizes are credited to your member account. You can assist Cooroy Golf Club by spending credits in your member account - it doesn't earn interest!

MEMBERSHIP
|
Welcome aboard to new members: Anthony Jones, Gavin Slater, Graham Burgen and Don Scott.
|
The Vets membership year runs from 1st January to 31st December. We have~150 registered male Vets. 109 have renewed so far for 2022 so, there are a few still to pay $10 and renew.

WEDNESDAY
A record field of 104 produced some great scores for a Single Stableford and 'Jimmy's Jumble' sponsored by Peter Palmer. Thanks Peter.

The new prize levels applied for the best Stableford score in each grade plus a ball run down. The winners were:

A Grade - Wayne (Bronco) Price 39
B Grade - Derek Wood 40
C Grade - Glen Johnstone 37
|
Players were randomly drawn with another player by Jimmy (Irish). The Stableford scores for the new found partners were added together to produce the winners for 'Jimmy's Jumble'. The winners came from a random pairing of winners in the single Stableford.
Winners: Wayne Price & Glen Johnstone - 76
Runners Up: Errol Radley (now winning everything) & Dave Chapman - 73
3rd Place: Terry Magill & Matt McQueen - 70

Players returning a good score, but poor team score were quick to blame their random partner and Jimmy for making the draw.

NEXT WEDNESDAY
Wednesday, 26th January, is a 4 Man Ambrose sponsored by John Butler.
|
There will be a prize for 'most use of the course'.
|
|
It is Australia Day so there will be a free sausage sizzle - wear something appropriate! Hopefully we won't see any of the above.

HOST DAY PROGRAM
We host Gympie on Monday, 24th January 2022 for a time start. Tee times have been posted on website - see post link below.

We host Pelican Waters on Monday, 7th February 2022. The nomination sheet is available in the clubhouse.
|
We host Mt Coolum on Monday, 14th February 2022 and play for the Coo-Coo Shield, a recently introduced annual challenge between the two clubs.
Mt Coolum don't play a weekly Vets competition so they are strong supporters of host day events. We are expecting big numbers from Mt Coolum; they usually send twice our numbers.
Host Day Captain, Dave Lyons, is planning to send out one of our members to three Mt Coolum players where practical. The nomination sheet for Mt Coolum reflects that objective. The nomination sheet is in the clubhouse - don't delay nominating as we are expecting a capacity field.

HONOUR BOARD EVENTS
I had a look at what we said in the newsletter this time last year - deja vu! COVID continues to cause restrictions so I thought I'd use that content and just make some slight changes!

Unfortunately, COVID-19 restrictions interrupted our 2020 season causing cancellations of two of our most prestigious honour board events:

We were able to complete two of our most prestigious events in 2021.
|
- Stableford Player of the Year (SPOTY)
- Host Day Player of the Year (HDPOTY)
2021 2022 WILL be better so we start the year on a positive note with thanks to Monty Python.

Both events are either underway or about to get under way for 2021 2022. We post an updated Leaderboard on the website and Vets clubhouse Notice Board throughout the year. Prize levels are the same for each event.
