WEDNESDAY
Golf is a strange game - sometimes the highest score wins, other times the lowest score wins, there is a rundown but no run up. You yell fore when you really mean get the hell out of the way. A foursome or a four-ball are two person team games but you play in a group of four. Players say they look forward to the playing their best hole, the 19th hole but, there are only 18 holes on the course. There is talk about being on the dance floor but there is no music!

And so it was on Wednesday with our '2 Best Ball' competition - a four man team event where the two best Stableford scores count on each hole. The scores and feedback indicated players enjoyed it with a three-way countback needed to decide the winning team of Richard Gibson, Peter Brown, Kevin Pickford and Kelvin Brittain with 90.
|
The Lenske Boys (Jim and Rick), Joe Daniels and Andrew Carson picked up Runners Up.
|
Third place went to John Cairns, Greg Flanagan, Ray Lally, Peter Crosby.
|
|
A special mention for Peter Jeucken for a Hole-in-One on the 6th - congratulations. Peter will have his 'Pinnacle' ball mounted on a special trophy and also receive a monogrammed Cooroy Vets golf shirt.

HOST DAY PROGRAM
23 Cooroy Vets made the short trip to Noosa for the host day earlier this week with some success. Rex Williams came third in B grade (37 points) and collected $30 to spend at the pro shop.
|
Mike Smith made the run down with 36 points. The rundown went to 34; Andrew Dick and Mark Woolway had 34 but were unlucky in the countback. We didn’t win a raffle prize.
|
We will seek revenge when we host them next year.
|
Reserve for the Noosa visit, Brian Clemow, got to play allowing him to maintain a narrow lead over Mike Kent in the Jim Penman Trophy Host Day Player of The Year (HDPOTY). See link below to leaderboard.

A draft tee time sheet for Monday, 15th November 2021, when we host Headland is available on the website - see link below. It is a 7:30 am time start.

There have been some cancellations and spaces are available for both Cooroy and Headland players.
|
This sheet will be in the club-house until Sunday for extra nominations, however it is not to exceed 20 groups, as it makes a very long day for the starters and raffle sellers. Hopefully we will have shotgun starts next year.

MARTY'S HUT
No need for a cut lunch next Wednesday as you can enjoy a Jimmy's Famous Burger and Beer at Marty's Hut.
|
|
This may be our last for the year. At this stage it is not clear what we will be able to do for our 2021 Xmas lunch on the 15th December but, we will do something.
|
|
HOLIDAY SEASON STABLEFORD
We complete our formal 2021 program on 15th December and kick off 2022 on 5th January 2022 with a shotgun start - hopefully.
|
So you can continue golfing over the holiday break we will play a Holiday Season Stableford competition over the following two Wednesdays. The competition will be all in - no grades. Best scores over both rounds. Both time sheets will go out together.

Weekly NTP on the 1st Hole for A,B, & C - Grades.

So that the committee gets to ease back a little, there will be no formalities - there will be a starter but no whiteboard, no lucky draw and no run down. Competition Fee each week is $15. More details about prizes closer to the event.
