HOST DAY VISIT TO NOOSA - RESULTS

24 Cooroy Vets headed to Noosa on Monday for the Host Day and to garner final points for the Jim Penman Host Day Player of The Year Trophy. Although he didn't have one of his best days, Andy Stewart did enough to hold off the chasers and further tighten his grip on the trophy.

Brad Lavender picked up Runner Up in C Grade with 43 - well done Brad.

NTP's went to
Brian Clemow, Dave Lyons, Terry McCulloch and Bruce Wilshire. Mike Miklenda and Paul O'Hare battled it out for the wooden spoon (worst score on the day) with Mike taking the prize on a countback.

HIGHLIGHTS from WEDNESDAY

Thanks to "The Card Length Kings" (aka Kim Bannikoff and Doug Allisone) for sponsoring Wednesdays Stableford competition. We are assured there is no sinister meaning in the name. Kim had to shake his own hand in the presentation after claiming first place in B Grade.

A Grade needed a three way countback to sort out a winner with Kerry Davies taking first place with 41 from Keith Harkins and Michael Loe.

Kim Bannikoff claimed B Grade with 39 from Andrew Dick 38 and Dougie Pearce 36.

All the action this week was in C Grade. Jim Prendergast and Mike Smith would have been quietly confident walking into the clubhouse each with 43 but it wasn't enough. Ian Mulhall shot a very good 45 (with a wipe!) to claim first place.

NTP's were worth winning with ProV1 golf balls donated by The Card Length Kings.

Dale (Rick) Rickard (picture) tried to claim a prize for making a hole-in-one on the 17th but it was more the case that he made a hole in one of the drain pipes. One of his playing partners suggested the hole was already there but we all know Rick is not that accurate even though he is well in contention for the 2019 SPotY.

WHAT's COMING UP

Next Wednesday we hold our ANZAC memorial day, deferred from earlier in the year because of rain. It is an 8:00am shotgun start and 4 Man Ambrose with a free sausage sizzle.

The Cooroy/Pomona RSL Sub Branch and Cooroy Vets ex Servicemen sponsor the event. If you are an ex-serviceman and interested in joining the sponsors speak to Errol Radley. Errol is holding donations from some members from the deferred game.
