Hi reader,
Smallacombe Grant (Hos)

INJURY LIST

Who would believe it.... Grant in a blue gown, white stockings and red socks.

The good news is that the surgery on Tuesday went to plan and Grant is well on the road to full recovery. Grant looks like he is just about ready for a game of golf, but not for a while yet.

Nick Kostalas suffered a detached retina back in June and is receiving medical attention to rectify the problem. It will be a while before Nick plays golf again but hopefully we might see him at Cooroy sometime soon for a catch up.

Welcome aboard to new member Bruce Longworth who joined us for his first game with the Vets on Wednesday.

HIGHLIGHTS of THE WEEK

The course has well and truly dried out and is producing some very helpful run.

We hosted Noosa Vets last Monday with a field of 55. Greg Michael, Lance Horn and Ray Glover were successful in taking out their respective Grades. It was great to see Ray on the winners podium. Our visitors picked up a couple of placing.

Thanks to Ken McKay for sponsoring Wednesday. Ken had to abandon golf mid game to sort out some issues with the sale of his house, which he did, and was back in time to sort out the score cards with Jimmy Henderson.

Bob Noble returned to the top table with 42 to take out A Grade from Greg Michael 40 and Mike Kent 39.

Ray Hand continued his great form to take B Grade with 43 from Paul O'Hare 40 and Dougie Pearce 36.

Dennis Beckhaus produced a good 42 to take C Grade from Tony Doughty 41 and Warren Hay 39.

Honest Errol Radley could only manage 33 but he did take out the NTP on 12th.

We must have a major event coming up as we are starting to see some good scores recorded. And we do; Round 1 of the 2019 Vets Championship kicks off on Wednesday, 4th September 2019 in conjunction with the September Monthly Medal.

Next Wednesday is a 4 Man Ambrose sponsored by "The Bush Boys" and an 8:00am shotgun start.

Irish Logic

Paddy and his wife are lying in bed and the neighbours dog is barking like mad in the garden.

Paddy says "To hell with this!" and storms off.

He comes back upstairs 5 minutes later and his wife asks "What did you do?" It's still barking!

Paddy replies "I've put the dog in our garden. Let's see how they like it!"
