As a result of discussions between Todd McNamee and Vets President, Graham Laing, the Vets have donated the cost of a new HTA Cordless Pole Pruner pictured with Tuesday volunteers.
The new saw allows grounds staff to be more productive so they are very pleased with the acquisition. You can already see the results around the course.

WEDNESDAY
|
A 5 shot lead from R1 of the Championship and a steady round yesterday saw Ken McKay take out the B Grade Champion trophy and justify the delay in heading off on holidays.
|
Con Russell maintained his form to take out C Grade Champion and also claim overall Nett Champion.
|
Although Con is carrying a couple of facial scars from the doctors knife (Con said he weaved when he should have ducked) he is psyched up and ready to motivate the Aussie Attack team for the Internationals vs Aussies event in a couple of weeks. Team captain, Grant is quietly confident of a win. Grant and Dave Lyons sorted out team selection for the 'Aussie' teams yesterday over a friendly beer but complained that most of our new members are Internationals with low handicaps. Of course Jimmy Henderson is well pleased - it's been a few years since the 'Internationals' had a win.

Peter Kennedy put in a great effort to take A Grade Champion. Peter had a 75 off the stick sharing first place in the Kevin Tonkin Best Gross with Grathan Leatherbarrow.

There is a rumour going around the Sunshine Coast that our Vets President, Graham Laing, had a air swing off the tee a couple of weeks ago but kept it quiet, until now.
|
Apart from Monthly Medals we only play one Stroke event each year and yesterday was it. Thanks to the Good, Bad and Ugly Team (aka John Stewart, Andy Stewart, Keith Harkins and Bob Noble) for prize sponsorship - you decide which fits who.
|
And there were some good scores in a field of 92. Its great to see some of our new members and 'junior vets' picking up prizes.
|
C Grade: Don Esposito with a very good 68 from Joe Daniels and Ron Ballantyne.
|
B Grade: Jim Bisset with 71 from Paul Williams and Kevin Pickford.
|
A Grade: Tony Bernhagen back in the winners circle with 65 from Derek Wood and Keith Harkins.
|
|
Next week is a 2 Man Aggregate Stableford. It is a two man team event. Full handicaps are used for each player with the stableford points scored for each hole recorded and then aggregated for the team.
