WEDNESDAY

Thanks to John Butler for his generous sponsorship of Wednesdays Stableford off the blue tees which allowed us to increase prize values for the day.

John organised some 'interesting' pin placements and there was the usual making "Most use of the Course" Award but, this year in each grade. The award is in its sixth year with some illustrious names taking out the prize. But, as Captain Grant pointed out, four of the past six winners no longer play golf! Fortunately, you can only win this prize once in 10 years which gives it a little more cache and this year, the prize value was the same as Runner Up!

Johns score for the day wasn't too flash so he was relieved when it was pointed out that he could invoke the rule that a sponsor can't collect a prize in a competition he sponsors saving him the ignominy of presenting himself with a prize for Most use of the Course.

Winners of 2020 Most Use of Course Award:
A Grade - Errol (I never win anything) Radley
B Grade - Dave Lyons
C Grade - Geoff Cowan
Geoff went from rooster (after winning Monthly Medal last week) to feather duster in a week but, he did win a bottle of wine in the Lucky Draw.

Andy Stewart took the Stableford prize in A Grade on a countback from Peter Jeucken with 35.

Ian Lumsden
finished with the best score of the day with 39 to take the B Grade from Peter Piggott.

Wayne McKinnon finished with 37 to take C Grade from Jim Henderson.

The Rundown went to 31.

VOLUNTEER WORKING BEE: Monday 13th JULY 2020

As you would aware the number of unfilled divots on the course continues to grow as a result of COVID-19 sand bucket restrictions, an increase in the number of social players and slower grass growth over winter.

Volunteer Co-ordinator, Peter Piggott, has organised a second Divot Repair Day on Monday, 13th July - meet at 8:00am at clubhouse. The club will provide motorised carts. Volunteers are requested to bring a large bucket, small bucket and scoop.

We are looking for as many volunteers as possible. A couple of hours of your time will make a big difference.

Who Says Men Don't Remember

A couple were Christmas shopping. The shopping centre was packed and as the wife walked around she was surprised to discover her husband was nowhere to be seen.

She was quite upset because they had a lot to do and hence, she became so worried that she called him on her mobile phone to ask where he was.

In a quiet voice he said: Do you remember the jewelers we went to about five years ago where you fell in love with that diamond necklace that we couldn't afford and I told you I would get it for you one day.

The wife choked up and started to cry and said Yes, I do remember that shop.

He replied: Well, I'm in the pub next door!
