Week ending 28th March 2020

Hi reader,

HOST DAYS

According to the feedback the Host Day visit to Headland last Monday was very enjoyable, albeit without the usual socialising and presentation.

Gary Dwyer finished top of the field table with 38 taking the B Grade prize - great effort Gary. Lance Horn finished third in B Grade with 35. Mike Kent, Terry McCulloch, Tony Foster and Greg Michael made the rundown.

Andy Stewart scored a NTP on 8th Hole.

COVID-19 (coronavirus)

COVID-19 (coronavirus) continues to have a significant impact on the lives of all Australians.

The situation is extremely fluid and changing all the time. There are now reports of cases in the Noosa area and a full lock-down is not out of the question. The concern is the situation will get much worse before it can be turned around.

Cooroy Golf Club is currently open on a 'restricted basis.' Click on the button below for full details. Given these restrictions and the likely financial impact, The Club is putting in place appropriate measures to allow it to manage through the crisis. Your support will be needed.

After careful consideration the Vets Committee has taken the decision to cancel all Wednesday and Host Day competitions until further notice. Most of us are in the at risk age bracket - it is not worth the risk.

If you feel comfortable doing so within the restrictions, members can play socially on Wednesday. Wayne may consider running a competition from the bar.

You can keep in touch with what's going on at the club by regularly checking the website and Facebook.

COOROY RAG

Check out the latest edition of the Cooroy Rag - it includes articles about Cooroy Golf Club and the Vets. If you have any interesting "stories' or pictures let Rod Booth know as these can be used in articles we submit to The Rag.

VETS NEWSLETTERS

Some members are reporting they are not receiving our weekly Vets email Newsletter which is usually sent out on Wednesday night or Thursday morning to around 201 subscribers.

The service used to distribute this Newsletter tracks the delivery status and immediately reports any problem such as delivery failure, with a reason, e.g. mail box full, invalid email address, email account suspended. The system is not reporting any issues with delivery.

Here are some tips if you concerned you may not have received a recent newsletter.
  • Carefully check your 'Junk E-mail Inbox'. If the newsletter has been classified as junk move it to your normal inbox and change the setting for the email to 'Mark as not junk' or as a safe sender. I've had several occasions recently where safe emails have suddenly started appearing in my Junk e-Mail inbox. If the problem persists you should contact your email service provider as they may be incorrectly blacklisting some incoming emails.
  • Your email service provider may be experiencing problems. For example there have been problems in the past with bigpond.
If none of the above resolve the problem speak to your email service provider and let Rod Booth know.
