HOSTING Mt COOLUM
A large field of 108 with Mt Coolum sending 68 players. Mt Coolum claimed the lions share of prizes but, Cooroy fought back to make a clean sweep in D Grade!
|
|
The big winner of day however was 'Mr Handicap' with only one score better than 36.
|
Mt Coolum players were full of praise for the state of the course - well done Todd and the boys.
|
|
We head to Mt Coolum next Monday with reports there is an even bigger field. Quite a few Cooroy members nominated late but new Host Day Captain, Dave Lyons, is off to a flying start and was able to get everyone a game. The tee allocations are available in the link below.

DISTRICT 2 PERSON AGGREGATE STABLEFORD
The 2020 District 2 Man Aggregate Stableford event will be held at Mt Coolum on Friday, 20th March 2020 - 8:30 am shotgun start. We have been allocated 6 teams - 12 players. Mt Coolum require full payment of entry fees prior to the event. Nominations close on 10th March 2020.

1st - $200, 2nd - $160, 3rd - $100, 4th - $60, 5th - $40
|
|
6 NTP’s (1 dozen balls each hole) and Ball rundown.
|
If you are interested in playing the event speak to Host Day Captain, Dave Lyons - there is no nomination sheet. Members nominating must pay the entry fee of $30 (includes competition fee and lunch) upfront i.e. before nominations close. Dave/Rod will collect fees and then remit the full amount to Mt Coolum.

HIGHLIGHTS of WEDNESDAY
A field 92, including 5 visitors, on another hot and steamy day on a course looking very lush.
|
John Wuersching had a good day taking out A Grade with 37 and NTP's on the 6th and 12th. Greg Michael took runner up with 36 from Greg Flanagan 35.
|
Mike (Superman) Kent also had a good day claiming B Grade with 37 from Phil (Mr Consistent) Mason 36 and Terry McCulloch 34.
|
Wayne Carty had an even better day giving Mr Handicap a real shakeup with 42 to take C Grade from Alex Kologaras 36 on countback from Mike O'Donnell.
|
Con Russell is having problems with the battery charger for his motorised cart so being a 'Mr fix it' type, he decided to repair it himself. Unfortunately every time Con reckons he's solved the problem and plugs in the cart it blows up again. Maybe it's time to buy a new one Con!
|

You may have heard that our long time sponsor Madill's are in the process of being sold to a large Brisbane based motor dealership. Madill's attribute a large part of their business success to their extensive sponsorship of local organisations. We hope the new owner will continue to support Cooroy Vets.

MEMBERSHIP
We had a very successful day on Wednesday collecting outstanding 2020 Subscriptions. A further 17 members are now financial bringing 2020 financial membership to 120.
|
|
Members not currently renewed are now noted as 'unfinancial'.
|
