Week Ending 10th September 2016

Hi reader,

The 4 Man Ambrose and Invitation Day on Wednesday saw a great fun day with lots of contests and challenges on the course and an excellent lunch afterwards provided by our NTP sponsor, Thai Tong Restaurant, Yandina - thank you Tanju.  Overall the response to the day has been positive.

Playing the par 5, 11th with just a 7 iron and putter produced some interesting results – 1 birdie, 14 pars, and 6 bogeys.  Will we see the 7 iron un-holstered more often in future?

The day was enhanced by the presence of a number of our past members.

Gavin Moore from Madill's had a great introduction to Cooroy Vets, playing in the winning team and taking out the NTP on 15thGavin kindly donated back his winnings.

Thank you to our sponsors "The Golf Tragics" (Rod Booth, Ian Mulhall, Jim Turnbull, Paul O’Hare, Graham Laing, Kevin Crundall) and to regular volunteer helpers Don Clelland and Ron Blount. This extra help eases the work load and allows the committee to enjoy the day also.

Wednesday saw the introduction of Prize Vouchers redeemable from the bar.  These vouchers will be used in future for Wednesday shot gun starts only and Host/Invitation days. The idea is that voucher be redeemed on the day won or within 1 week.  Timed starts on Wednesday will continue as present - credit to member account or sponsor donated prize.

From the 1st September we changed to Summer Time so timed starts will be from 6:30am.

We have 40 nominations for our visit to Maroochy River on Monday, 26th September 2016 leaving 5 places to be filled.   Geoff Currie is looking for someone to share a cart.  If you are interested contact Rod or Grant.  Don't forget to book a cart.  Click on the following link to nominate.
